Danielle Roe

( She / her / hers )

An established sociologist undertaking doctoral research at the University of Birmingham, Danielle holds both Master's of Research in Social Research and 1st Class Bachelor of Arts degrees.

​

Her research explores transgender, genderqueer and non-binary identities within the context of LGBTQ+ cyberspaces. She specialises in; protocol development and metasynthesis, photo-voice and photo-elicitation, grounded theory and critical realism.

 

Danielle is also a skilled lecturer having been a visiting lecturer, module lead and dissertation supervisor within social science subject areas at several Russell Group universities.

Jason is a Lecturer in Social Work, and Deputy Director of PGR for the School of Social Policy at the University of Birmingham. He is co-chair of the UK regional network for International Partnership for Queer Youth Resilience (INQYR) and previously chair of  Sexuality in Social Work interest group, and is a founding member of European Social Work Research Association. His research focusses on gender and sexuality, particularly improving the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ young people, and professional engagement with LGBTQ+ people, predominantly using evidence-based methodologies and mixed methods. His research also examines leadership in social work and child protection practices.

Professor Paul Montgomery

Prof Montgomery is Professor of Social Intervention at the University of Birmingham. His work is methodologically based in three main areas: Systematic Reviews, Trials (many of them RCTs) and Methods Advances in Complex Interventions. He is a member of the Cross-Whitehall Trial Advice Panel, Cabinet Office, Government of the United Kingdom and is an Affiliate Professor, Department of Family Studies, University of Malta. Paul is also on the Advisory Panel of two “What Works Centres” -Wellbeing and Children’s Social Care. Currently Prof Montgomery sits on NIHR and ESRC panels and is an Editor for the International Journal of Social Welfare and for the Developmental, Psychosocial and Learning Problems Group (DPLPG) of the Cochrane Collaboration.
